Pepper
Pepper a senior dog that Lynn C. had been fostering and ending up keeping was also allowed to be free of her pain yesterday. For those who remember, last year a senior gentleman had to be put in a nursing home (temporarily) needed a place for his two small senior dogs. Lynn graciously told him she would take care of them until he came out of the nursing home. He was home after a month but within a week was back in the nursing home and the dogs came back to Lynn. One was adopted out through the shelter but the other who Lynn kept, had heart problems and the prognosis was that she would probably not live more than 6 months. After more than a year she passed yesterday (Aug 19) with heart complications. Pickles--almost 11 years old--Poor Pickles was brought to the shelter along with 4 or 5 chi's because her owner committed suicide. The owner's mother came and reclaimed the chi's but no one wanted Pickles. She never showed much emotion and already had some vision problems. The Shar Pei rescue that has Phoebe took her in. She immediately discovered Pickles was having seizures and put her on meds to help control. But, last week she had one that she could not come out of and had to be hospitalized. When she returned home, she had become totally blind from the seizure and walked constantly in circles. The rescue decided that putting her to sleep was the humane thing to do. At least she spent her past 9 months in a loving home. Priscilla was found dead on the side of road -- US-23 in Michigan. Apparently hit by a vehicle. Picked her up after receiving a phone call from a driver who stopped and seen she had a collar and tag with our number on it. She traveled 25-30 miles from Blissfield (foster home) to where she was found Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
