Beulah Do you recognize her? She has lost (most) of her winter coat, and a few pounds! Penny is doing really well. She recovered quickly from the surgery to remove the tumor on her chest and seemed to feel better right away with it gone! She has adapted very well to our family. With the warm weather, she likes lying on the cool floor on the back porch, but otherwise likes to be wherever we are. She really likes to go for car rides! (More than walks, I think...) She is very trusting and a quick learner. We take her to our boat, and at first, we had to lift her on. Gradually she learned to walk up the stairs, and now jumps on and off like a pro. (She looks very cute in her life jacket! Wish we had a picture!) Wherever we go, people comment on what a beautiful dog she is, and ask what type she is - many recognize the malamute in her.She loves getting attention from people and is always very sweet. Not so much love for other dogs. She is very calm around them unless they sniff her - then she growls. Likes her space....The doctor said to keep her activity fairly low until July because of the heartworms, but since then we have been trying to get her to run a little bit... she's pretty lazy though! We are so glad that she was rescued and are so glad she is part of "our pack" now. She is the perfect dog for our family and we love her very much.
Gabe We just wanted to send some updated pictures to you of Gabe (Gabriel)! We have had him a year now as of August 7th! He is a very happy cat and a dear part of our family. He also has little sister that we adopted from petsmart on Jan 7th. He is doing great and is completely spoiled rotten.
Tater Tot 'I wanted to thank you for sending Tater Tot, he's a great little guy & has already fit started to fit in around here! We do have a vet appointment in the morning which I'm thrilled I set up because he has a few growths I'm concerned about & I think he's definitely over 7yrs. However now I know why I was so drawn to him & I promise to provide him with the utmost medical care & a fabulous life! I've attached a picture of him in the bathrobe he now shares with my other chihuahua Bruno. (who is in the picture next to him) They are both on a faux fur bed covered by the faux fur blanket made to go with the bed. (Bruno is a bit over 9yrs) "
Phoebe "I just had to relate this story to you since our LIL DOG has come so far. When we got Phoebe in March she was somewhat shaky walking, acted fragile and fell down alot. She was really exploring the yard but seemed to struggle and be in pain and it was taking a toll on her joints. By April she was having so much problem I bought the back end doggie lifts for her and helped her get around. We got her on Derramax and it has really seemed to help her. This summer we have had an abundance of family parties at my aunts house with a big yard usually with 15-40 people and all of our dogs. She goes to all parties and family functions. My cousin has a 5 year old "MARMADUKE" who is wild, crazy and darts from one end of the huge lot to the other. As soon as Phoebe saw her she went up to her, wagging and licking her, well off went Nickki, the big dog and off fly's Phoebe, as fast as those legs could scurry her with those big ears flapping, everyone was laughing and in amazement of her. Niccki was lapping her back and forth but she just kept going. Bob and Most of my family thought she had no personality and was lifeless. Her tail just hung and she would turn away. It took months but now when we come in she is excited, wags and licks you. SHE FINALLY "LIKES US' When I got back from vacation she actually wagged and jumped on me. My son takes her for walks and rides several times a week and she loves it. If he gets ready to go anywhere she thinks she might be going................... One thing we can't resolve with her is she is oblivious that her name is Phoebe or will NOT come, look or respond to ANYONE CALLING HER. she just doesn't care. This is why most people believe she is deaf, but she does hear food russling......... I know how much Debbie and the ladies from Terrahaut cared about her, and I can truly say this little dog is really living her life to the fullest. I AM SO HAPPY FOR HER Thank you for caring to give her a chance. Debbie" Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
