Biz Markie Was adopted this weekend. He wasn't available yet when I left the shelter on Friday, but he's already adopted! YAY!" & "He was a staff favorite. When I came to volunteer on Friday, he was walking with one of the staff members who was just gushing about how awesome he was. What a gorgeous boy!
Britt They're getting along very well, amazingly enough... took the day off to spend time with them, so far it's been great! Btw, we changed his name to Gobi (as in the desert :), only because when we say "sit to Tigger, Britt comes over, and when we call Britt, Tigger sits...it's quite hilarious! So to avoid confusion, we changed his name...he's responding to the new name quite nicely. Tomorrow Gobi starts doggie day care, so he can be socialized and also to put all that energy to good use, since we're not home during the day. My husband & I take both of them for a walk together when we get home from work, then he takes Gobi for a bike ride (he's riding the bike, Gobi running alongside him), amazing to watch, Gobi's so fast. Tigger can only handle a walk as he's older and get tired quite easily.
Beulah Do you recognize her? She has lost (most) of her winter coat, and a few pounds! Penny is doing really well. She recovered quickly from the surgery to remove the tumor on her chest and seemed to feel better right away with it gone! She has adapted very well to our family. With the warm weather, she likes lying on the cool floor on the back porch, but otherwise likes to be wherever we are. She really likes to go for car rides! (More than walks, I think...) She is very trusting and a quick learner. We take her to our boat, and at first, we had to lift her on. Gradually she learned to walk up the stairs, and now jumps on and off like a pro. (She looks very cute in her life jacket! Wish we had a picture!) Wherever we go, people comment on what a beautiful dog she is, and ask what type she is - many recognize the malamute in her.She loves getting attention from people and is always very sweet. Not so much love for other dogs. She is very calm around them unless they sniff her - then she growls. Likes her space....The doctor said to keep her activity fairly low until July because of the heartworms, but since then we have been trying to get her to run a little bit... she's pretty lazy though! We are so glad that she was rescued and are so glad she is part of "our pack" now. She is the perfect dog for our family and we love her very much. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
