She arrived slightly underweight (all 42 pounds of her) and very frightened.  It's amazing what good food and kind people can do for the spirits of a neglected dog.  We call her Maya and she's very sweet and so appreciative of the time and care she receives from staff and visitors here.  She's actually very energetic, loves running in the yard and walking on a leash. Her energy level has us thinking she'd do best in a home without young children.  Maya is considered canine reactive; if they are nice to her she'll be nice to them.  She's looking forward to finding her forever home and hopes that day will come very soon.  Please ask to meet Maya, she'll be pleased to meet you.
